How to Recreate A Soft and Piece-y Gala Red Carpet Look
Ever wondered how it’s possible to create a soft and piece-y style that doesn’t fall apart after few hours? According to John D, “I used TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Mousse to create a solid foundation and TRESemmé TRES Two Ultra Fine Mist Hair Spray to lock the look in place.”
Step 1: Start with clean hair.
To begin creating your look, wash hair with TRESemmé Repair & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner. For his client, John spritzed in some TRESemmé Repair & Protect 7 Pre-Styling Spray throughout to prep the hair for styling. “Love this product because it does just what it says, it helps both repair and protect the hair from daily damages of styling! It is very lightweight and can be layered in with other products too,” says John.
Step 2: Add mousse.
After applying the pre-styling spray, John advises to apply TRESemmé TRES Two Extra Hold Mousse. “Apply it to the roots of the hair with your fingers, then rake hands throughout to ensure equal distribution and coverage,” instructs John.
Step 3: Blow-dry your hair.
Time to blow-dry! “Blowdrying your hair in opposite directions really helps create more volume! Rough-drying using a vented brush and your hands also helps maintain natural fullness,” John suggests.
Step 4: Use curling iron to create waves.
“Once hair was dried, I used a small curling iron to create the waves. I curled the hair throughout the head in different directions to add to the volume and texture.”
Step 4: Final look!
Now it’s time to put the final touches on your soft and piece-y gala inspired style! “To finish the look, I just used my hands and some TRESemmé TRES Two Ultra Fine Mist Hairspray to refine the final shape! And to keep the ends looking piece-y and defined, I pumped a couple pumps of the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)done Wave Creating Sea Foam into my palms and lightly scrunched it into the ends. This foam is so lightweight that it is ideal for creating definition that is still soft. The perfect finish to this modern nod to the past!” says John. Loved this soft and piece-y look?
